I just read that next week in Oymyakon, Siberia the temperature will reach -55 degrees Fahrenheit (-48 Celsius)

So if you plan on visiting the area, make sure you bring an extra sweater and stuff.

We've had a consistent week of -20C in Northern Ontario. Today is just -10. My pipes finally thawed in the 2nd bathroom. 8)

I'm off the motorcycle until we get some rain (to wash away the brine/road salt).

Walking to & from the bus has not been fun this past week.

Same up here ~140 miles north in the Albany NY area. Heat wave today with a predicted afternoon high of 22 F. Gonna get worse again, though. On Saturday, it's not predicted to get above zero all day. Yeah, I know this is small potatoes to you guys up in the Great White North, but it's freakin' COLD by our standards....

When it reaches below -50 degrees F you have to cover face or your skin will be in pain and ice particles start forming inside your nostrils.

The material of your coat may also crack unless it's designed for Antarctica specs.

I can appreciate the cold you guys are talking about from winter visits to Montana and going out when it's -20*F. However, I live about 60 miles north of mmarsh and drove home from work last night in shirt sleeves, with the convertible top down.

You guys that are in the worst of it, stay safe.

-9 deg F in my town this morning. I'm in Connecticut. This is a bit colder than we're used to here, but not unheard of.

That's right about what we had in the Albany NY area last night. Not as bad as they said it might be. Up in Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks near where my son went to college, it got down to -29 F....brrrrrrr!!!

It was -11F at night where I live this weekend. I got several bottles of wine on Friday, and leave the house until Sunday. Except for the 30 seconds on Saturday night when I drunkenly dared myself to run outside in thermals to see what it'd be like.
