If you have read my posts, you know I don't actually use amps much these days. Since I got my Helix LT, I have been incredibly impressed with the quality of tones it can produce, not to mention sort of hooked on the endless options for effects, amps, cabs, routing, etc. But one of the things I've realized in the time using the Helix is that I
love the AC30. Now, I have absolutely no need for that much volume, but 15 watts… well, you see where this is going.
Sweetwater was offering a super deal on the AC15 "vintage black" model, which is basically the same as a regular AC15, but with a black grill cloth and a Celestion Creamback speaker. It arrived today, and man does it sound killer with my Gretsch! I can't find a bad tone anywhere in it. I'm going to try and wire up a DIY foot switch for it, and then I have a feeling I'll be using it a lot.
In other news, if anyone wants a wonderful hand-wired BYOC Marshall 18w head, I do need to balance the books over here.
