Hahahaa! Well, just got off the phone with the Luthier. He's gonna keep that guitar and make me one with Indian Rosewood instead of the Cherry. Patience.

Did he just like it that much? Or did you change your mind?

Out of the blue, he asked me if I'd like rosewood instead. To be honest, I thought that the clip sounded more Taylor than Martin. It was bright where I desire the Martin warmth. If he hadn't said anything, I'd have married it happily ever after, but seeing as he offered...some other subtle changes too. Cream binding, abalone ring around the sound hole...and no separating border in the middle of the back. Straight glued halves. Quite wonderful of him to ask about the rosewood. Looks like I'll be having carpal and trigger finger surgery in the next week or 2 (had it done on the right hand few years ago, now need it on the left) and it takes a month of recovery anyway, so waiting isn't an issue. sigh.

Ah, well then that seems like it's all working out, even though waiting is no fun. I hadn't picked up on the brightness, probably because I lazily only watched the clip on my laptop through the internal speakers.

Good luck with the surgery! Let us know if you need care packages or anything.

damn logo. supposed to be Blue Paua Abalone to match the other inlays but showed up Mother of Pearl, so I'm gonna hope they are true to their word and have it sent by next week. Then the guitar is ready for spraying.

Been a long time on this but finally, light at the end of the tunnel. Not the carpal tunnel. 3 fingers have gone numb, been to the doctor and am addressing it. My guy got the guitar back from the finisher, so I should have this in 2 weeks or thereabouts, after the bridge is glued in and bridge and body are drilled for strings, tuning pegs, setup, blah blah.
