Have you guys heard of this term?

First of all. Rude. Secondly, the examples kids are giving of boomer bends are licks from the 80's. Get your decades right! I guess kids consider anyone born before 1990 to be a boomer.

I don’t know anything about that term (I can guess and it makes me chuckle), but I do know that the '80s was Gen X time, not boomer time! Get it straight, Zoomers.

Yeah, I have. I guess it's a "boomer" bend because it became commonplace in pop music with the emergence of the white blues players in the mid-'60s....even though the pioneering black bluesmen had been doing it for at least a couple of decades. Funny though that some younger folks apply it to '80s stuff. Catch up, people! Hey, I just consider the source....

I like this guys take on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVhdfB_s72Q&t=187s

BTW, if anybody had ever been foolish enough to call one of Albert King's 3-fret bends a "boomer bend" to his face, he'd have squashed them like a bug!!
