A few days ago I ruined 4 waterslide decals in a row then sat my iron on the insulation of a wire I was tinning. Called it quits for the day. Next day was awesome.

Is this common?

Hehe, yep, some days you just don't have it. I'm not even sure what "it" is. Happens with me with guitar tone, too. I can plug in to the same amp and pedals with the same guitar that sounded awesome yesterday, and it just won't sound good.

You can either walk away or try to dial in your focus. I think each response is appropriate at different times.
