This is my first pedal it is a green pony, and I did it all myself which is neat. I asked a bunch of artistic friends for help but ultimately decided on making it all my own. I didn't really have a plan and I didn't think I would finish the enclosure at all due to I think it's called ?perfection paralysis? So I was impatient and built the pedal first then finished the enclosure after when I decided screw it I'm just gonna try. I had a bunch of ideas though only few felt feasible. At the time I was working on this rock climb near my home called rabbits on acid and I decided to theme it off of that. I primed the enclosure then tried painting it with glow in the dark acrylic paint that didn't take the way I expected but I drove on then used a sealer and called it a day. I almost painted the knobs over and I still might.

Works for me!! 8)

BTW, we always like (expect, actually!) to see a "gut shot" along with the outside photo.

Nice work. Congrats on getting your first pedal to work! Got a plan to build another?

Thanks, I ordered the crown jewel. But I might order the pre gain boost module module too. I want to be able to get some heavy metal sound and even though I keep reading articles I still have a fuzzy understanding of overdrive vs distortion.

Good call, that's a well-loved pedal for sure.

Regarding OD vs. distortion, it's a little bit of a… fuzzy distinction

But in all seriousness, you can get metal tones with any dirt pedal if you're using the right amp. Look at all the metal guitarists who boost their heavy amps with a Tube Screamer, for example. The CJ is very versatile and I think would do the trick for you unless you're trying to play metal through a Fender Twin. (And maybe even then!)

Nicely done. Looks better than my first pedal.
