Painting the damn thing proved a lot hader than I thought. Oh well, it sure looks hand made. Come to think of it, doesn´t BJF pedals look little like this?

Painting is definitely a lot harder than soldering IMO. Those BJF pedals look like they just wrote on them with a sharpie.

Bjorn's wife paints all of them and does the lettering by hand. The last BJF pedal a friend of got looked like it'd been painted and shipped before the stuff had even dried- it was still sticky when I was playing with it. It did sound great though.

I've built 12+ pedals and not a single one has paint....at first I could tell by the knobs but then I started running out of knobs so I have to use wierd combinations of different knobs to distinguish the effects....yes i'm that lazy.

Awesome, there should be a band that's entire rig is unpainted pedals so nobody will ever know what they use!

More error.

My first build ended up being a bare box but not without going under several coats of paint/sanding/stripping/repainting. I'm on my 2nd build, and so far so good. Waiting for the paint to cure is the hardest part. I did pretty well with this box, and just this weekend I bought a B&D toaster oven, put it in and BLAMO, bubbles. So I stripped it and started over. Put a light coat on and put it in the toaster for 1 hour @ 150-170. Let it cool down for a couple hours and then put on the 2nd coat and did the same...so far no bubbles. Once again 3rd coat...no problem. I think the heat curing and light coats help the drying process. I think after the paint/heat curing is done, I'll give it a week before applying the hardware.

Yea ya gotta bake em slow. I use my oven and put it on the lowest setting. I think its at 100 degrees. I'm in Canada so thats Celsius. Just bake it at the lowest setting possible and if you use water slide decals dont bake it or they will bubble.
