So I think I'm done with using wood as a circuit board for at least a little while, but it was fun while it lasted. Here's my two-channel, two-watt amp built as such, with a clear top for showing off purposes. No gutshots . . .

 That's ridiculous. I've definently gotta try a build with the wood and nails mojo. Could you post the layout?

No.

But - not to be a jerk - rather it's because I lost the damn layout . . . I had just drawn it out by hand and for the life of me I cannot find it anywhere. When I do find it I'll be happy to post. In the meantime, here is a link to my original drawing of the circuit (adapting it to a turret-board style layout isn't too tough): http://pedalbuilder.com/wp-content/uplo ... _small.jpg

Here's a thread about it, through the course of which the circuit evolves a bit: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=16214&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Sweet! That's a great idea. How did you cut the acrylic? I've used acrylic in projects before but I always scratch it or can never get the edges to look right.

Thanks to all!!

I just use a plastic cutter to score it, then I break it, and use a dremel with a sanding attachement to sand it down to size and round the edges to match the enclosure. If you look close there are many irregularities which could be sorted out with time, but I really had run out of patience with this build and wanted it done so once it was good enough it was indeed good enough!!

Good damn.

Cool self-designed circuit.
Circuit board made of wood and nails.
Acrylic top.

Hard to beat that threesome.

I stared and stared at it and couldn't figure out why you said 'no gut shots' when all you posted was gut shots. Then I remembers the acrylic top. Stupid Monday.

Excellent work my friend.

You know, I spend hours and hours in my FREEZING garage, and I make something I think is cool, and I think, "I'll get a camera and post some pics for the guys!"

And then, you build something so freakin' awesome, I don't need to worry about that camera!

Thanks again guys - you are too kind! The sad part about this is that this little guy will probably see almost zero usage, but that's the way it goes I suppose.

I read this to mean that we can expect some pics in the 'show-off' thread very soon, right??? :)

And nevermind this little guy, did you see this: viewtopic.php? f=8&t=22168

I can't open the link, so I am not sure which one you are talking about. But thanks.

Actually, I am mid way through a socketed toggle box. Strictly development hardware, but I stumbled on an idea that will make it worth a pic or two.

I came up with the idea while tweaking a Mojo project a couple of friends PIF'd me  , and reading about all the different Muff variants.

Stay tuned!

That's killer.

I have a plan to do an op-amp circuit on turrets. Looks like geniuses think alike.

I'll look forward to seeing it. I don't think my solution would stand up to any degree of real use, but since this is an amp rather than a pedal I went with it.

Yes . . . .

Thanks again, guys.

Thanks for asking, but probably not in this configuration. There are some durability issues that I would have to work out (I don't think you could drop this thing and still have a working amp). I do occassionally sell the same 2-watt amp circuit built up on a PCB though! :D
