Anyone dig chocolate stouts like me?

Love chocolate stouts!

Just tried Detroit Brewery's Sanders Chocolate Stout and was very disappointed.
Tasted a bit watered down to me with no real noticeable chocolate flavor.
Weak in comparison to Founders Breakfast Stout or Young's.

I had the mother of all headaches when I took this pic. So I hit it with 2 Solphadine Plus and a glass of Westmalle Dubel. Nice :) Cheers.

Yeah, that's what I paid for my 4 pack of Sammy Smiths too. Still better than $10 bombers (22oz bottle).

My bro and I killed a growler of Blue Hills Brewing Pumpkin Lager last night too. Well, mostly me, he stopped in for a pint and to watch the 2nd half of the Niners squeaking by the Giants, and was out. Very local brew, pretty sure the only way to get it is in a growler near me. Awesome though - pumpkin lager instead of the more typical pumpkin ale - perfect. Didn't taste like pie spices and all that jazz, more like pumpkin and lager. Good football weather beer. Hearty and unfiltered.

Haha! A growler is basically a glass half gallon jug that gets filled with draft beer and capped. A lot of local type breweries haven't got the funds to set up bottling and distribution but they will fill a growler for you to go, or sell growlers to local stores. You get the brewery freshest you can get, they get their beer out there.

Onto Sam Smith's (clearly inspired by this thread) India Ale now while tolexing a cab. Good stuff, this. Not the tastiest IPA type I've ever had, then again not sure it's exactly what they were after since it's an India Ale and not an India Pale Ale.

That's some serious gain right there!

Seen the Bear Republic beers before and never tried them. There's a few new 'liquor superstores' near me and the beer selections are off the hook. Only trouble is there's so much to pick from, narrowing it down is really tough. Racer 5 it is!

Drive up one more state and go to New Hampshire, we have a cabin in the sticks of Maine and we load up at the New Hamshire state liqour store, you don't even have to get off the highway. It's right on frigin I95, I get a half gallon of top shelf Bullit Bourbon for 45$

NH State Liquor Stores are awesome. Any time we're in NH or on our way to/from Maine, same deal. Unfortunately, while they sell liquor and wine, there's no beer. This Bullit Bourbon though, haven't heard of/tried it... I love Blanton's, Michters, Maple Hill, and of course Maker's Mark. I'll give Bullit a shot too!
