Gin and Tonic from a local bar:

Well gin. Normally wouldn't comment on something like this, especially in a beer thread but Garage Bar is making their own damn tonic water (hence the brown color of the drink). And it's delicious. Fantastic gin and tonic.

Drinking cheap Dab and Somersby Cider mixed. I believe it's called a "Snakebite"
I occassionally like a little fruity taste in my beer. St-Amboise (a Quebec brewery) has an Apricot Ale that is scrumptious.

All about the local stuff. The craft beer revolution seems finally to have caught on in MA.

Diggin the heck out of this. Very high quality hopped single IPA. And under $6 for the bomber.

Back to the craft beer store pilgrimage series, though I'm sure I can get this almost anywhere when it's in season - Bigfoot. I am digging the heck out of this barleywine. I don't know what I expected but this is like one of those strong ales.

Bigfoot is awesome aged a few years! If you can find it, the Left Hand Brewery Widdershins is a really good barleywine.

Yeeeeaaaahhhh, Connecticut craft beer, bitchez!!

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/02/nyregion/slaking-a-thirst-for-beers-at-craft-breweries.html?smid=tw-share&_r=2

Quote:
Connecticut microbrewers were once required to sell through distributors, which then delivered the product to stores and restaurants. A change in state law in July 2012 allows small breweries like Firefly Hollow, which opened last October, to sell anything from pints on up to half-gallon “growlers” directly to consumers, and earn higher profits in the process.

As a result, business at Firefly and other breweries around the state is booming. “We’re selling way more beer than we expected,” said Dana Bourque, Firefly’s head of brewery operations.

With about 15 craft breweries operating in the state, and several others poised to open, how many more can Connecticut support?

*Jefe glances down at his growing beer gut*

In other related news, Connecticut's residents are now amoung the nation's fattest. And drunkest.

Nice Jefe!!

Took a little trip to a local small store that was the craft beer place in town before all the big superstores moved in. Looking fora barleywine. Didn't find any, but did find this. I've literally been looking for this beer for five years now. SO excited. Very very tasty. Well hopped but not too hoppy. Better not be, it's an amber haha.

Good on you Frag. Looks like a great beer for a tribute.

Having some Maine Beer Co. Mo pale ale. Heard it was delicious and wanted to try, but damn I the only thing worse than overpaying for a bomber (22oz) is overpaying for one of these (16.9oz)... It is delicious though. Superbly hopped. And look at it, can't even see through it. Good head on it too.

Greenbush Brewery Brother Benjamin imperial IPA. This is damn good! Slightly better price and slightly better than Bell's Hopslam.

Edited to ask, anyone else use untapped? If so I'm rocko_period or Mark Ramos, not sure how it does up.

Rocko, you just got an untapped friend request from jrgiza, or John Giza.

Forgot to post this up the other night. This is a top 5 beer for me:

Holy crap good. I absolutely love this kind of imperial IPA.

Tonight is the next in the craft beer pilgrimage series, which I'm running out of:

Very very good. Hoppy, dry but with a hint of a malty backbone.

And finally, the 18 year, also from July 2011. Still not loving it as much as the 12 year, hmmm.
