Point to point wiring is fun! I really enjoyed this one. I'm happy to report that it powered up without any problems so I could go right into twiddling knobs.

I figured I'd have a bit of fun with the badge. I mocked up the Fender Tweed Deluxe logo in Illustrator, using the Twin-Amp and Deluxe logos as a base. Then electro-etched it on to aluminum stock. It took a bit of trial and error to learn how to do this to my satisfaction without getting erosion on the tight spots where the letters are close to the border, but I got it eventually.

I am an idiot.

I got so hung up on getting the font right and designing the badge, I never noticed that I somehow changed the name of the amp from a Tweed Royal to a Tweed Deluxe. My apologies to Keith at al at BYOC, this was not an intentional slight. I'll build a proper one for it.

Pretty sure nobody will get offended. BYOC's stuff have been used and misrepresented many a times. Part of the kit business I guess.

The fact that you're using the Fender logo seems more of a problem to me than not using the word Royal.

Build looks great by the way. Congrats on a nice clean build.

The way I look at it, the badge is for an obviously non-legit model. It'll never fool anyone, it's more of a nod to the originator and to BYOC. Fender did the circuit design(s), BYOC mixed them all together. I wouldn't put a badge that just says "Fender" on it, though. That's too far.

I think I've got the design finished - coming up with a "Royal" that matched the Fender style was a challenge. I'll work on turning it into aluminum in the next week or so.

I'm kind of disappointed the build is over. But while it was fun to build the amp, it turns out it's also pretty fun to play. Nice piece of kit.

Looks like a nice tight build on the inside. Well done! I think the badge looks great, as well.

Thanks. It could be prettier and there's one wire I wish was 1/2" longer, but it works and that's the key. I'm hoping not to see the wiring again for a long time :D Fun little amp to play, we're having a really good time getting to know each other.

I did right the wrong of the badge, however.

Puzzling the gear geeks is the point!

Want one for yourself? How much work do you want to do? All you need to duplicate it is a car battery and some salt water. I can provide the vinyl mask or the vector file you need to cut or print your own mask. This is a DIY forum after all

If you want me to make one for you, I'm sure that can be arranged. Just be aware that I am an enthusiastic amateur and not a pro, but I'm getting better at this all the time.
