Put together another guitar over the summer!

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I've been coveting this 1962 Daphne Blue Jazzmaster for a long time now:

So, taking that for inspiration, I put this gal together.

Parts:
- Squier vintage modified sonic blue body & vibrato (hard to photograph; looks white in pictures)
- Fender classic player neck
- AVRI tort pickguard
- Staytrem bridge
- CTS pots, switchcraft switches & jack
- used set of Cutis Novak pickups (vintage in the neck, P-90 for rock & roll party time in the bridge)
- non-standard wiring with 250k pots & .022 cap, and 1 meg pots in the rhythm circuit so the rhythm circuit (neck only) is actually brighter than the lead circuit (works well for me)

 Whoa, ULTRA-sweet! Fantastic job there, Morgan. Looks amazingly like the vintage article! 8)

I'll bet those Novak P90's sound great. I have a pair of his modified Fender wide-range humbuckers in my '72 Thinline Tele RI, and love 'em!

Now THAT is one beauty of a guitar!! 8) 8) 8) Well done sir!

Question from a fellow PartsMaster builder-
did you buy the roller pots mount for the rhythm circuit? I ask because I made my own by bending/snipping sheet metal, and it was kind of a huge PITA.

Thanks Eric! Yes, I bought all the parts. I’m not great at accurately bending metal, so I bit the bullet there.

By the way - I was determined to make the original Squier bridge work. I tried every trick in the book: shimming the neck for more downward pressure, heavier strings, nail polish on the grub screw threads. It was just crap. The guitar was lifeless, would not stay in tune, and was plagued by various sources of bridge rattle. I really thought I could get it to work if I paid enough attention to the details. It was a lost cause.

The Staytrem bridge is night & day! As soon as I popped it in, that guitar came right to life. Acoustically and plugged in. Tuning stability is rock solid too.

Yep, I thought it looked familiar. Those are great speakers for blackface/brownface amps :)
