Made 2. This one sounds terrific. 2nd one sounds as it should but distorts when you hit it hard, and that's with my very weak tele pickups....any thoughts on that?

Seems to be a very touchy circuit. Blueshawk/John and I both built an earlier version (see gut shot of mine below) and both of us had noise problems. I've never been able to get mine to be completely quiet though it's certainly usable, and John had a long struggle with his. He has a lengthy thread here about his--you might want to read through it and see if there's anything relevant to yours: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=38109

Thanks Bob. Nothing there concerning what's going on with mine. Again, sounds as it should, but distorts a bit when you hit it hard. I'll do a voltage chart today.

Holy moly, I completely forgot about this old thread and my troubles. I have to say I use my Current Lover a lot and it still works good (It's my Colossus that is on the repair bench right now as it has a gremlin in it) But, I'm guessing I may not have hit it as hard as Jeff has maybe given my small space and I never thought to do it but I don't recall it distorting or at least to a degree I either picked up on it or was bothered by it.

I'll see if I can't do that however and go stand down the hall when I smack the guitar.

Jeff I may be confused but is the first one the SAD version?

SAD version coming, these are MN3007's. Thinking of pulling Q1 at this point, measuring it and replacing it.

Just because I am an a-hole I'm working on another version of the CL that's stereo output + higher voltage. Actually populating it right now.
