So tonight I finished my first DIY build. it is a tonebender clone from BYOC.

Here is the outside...

I used red Rust-o-leum paint. I probably didn't wait quite long enough after I applied the decals and clear coat, but I wanted to get this bad boy finished.

Here is the inside...

It took me a couple of hours to do the PCB and probably 4 hours or so to finish up the wiring.

The best part, it worked the first time I plugged it in :D .

I am so hooked on this. Off to start the Phaser...

Yeah, I was surprised when I got mine, too. Evolution has occoured.

P.S. It always pays to look at the most recent PDF instructions for this very reason...I tend to file all my PDF's, but, this can lead to problems if you don't check updates.

Very nice!
Try replacing that duracell with a crappy old half dead carbon battery.
You will be pleasantly suprised!

For the graphics I used Word Art and change the size until it fit the space. Worked pretty slick.

Nice pedal, I do like those graphics.

Leader, I think I have seen you mention an old carbon battery in another post. What is the difference and where do you get them/who makes them?

jva

I found the info on here some where. Use a non alkaline battery. Once it gets down around 7 volts it will sound even better.

you heard it from me, Leader....I found out through experience. Dollar store zinc carbon batteries, not alkaline.

Yeah....and the best thing about dollar store batteries is that they "age" them for you, so they are already down to about 7v.
