Dear Friends,

I'm using two unused Crown Jewel modules to make a 2-in-1 pedal. Octave Up and Fuzz Modules to make an octave fuzz. Each daughter board will have its own 3PDT bypass switch.

What I would REALLY like to do before I do the final assembly of everything is to do a first/last switch like the Crown Jewel has for its boost (boost can come before drive or after drive). For my application, I'd like to be able to put the octave up before the fuzz or after the fuzz.

I studied the CJ schematic and can't decipher how that first/last switch is wired. Appears to be 3PDT, and it looks like the first/last switch has direct connections to the effects bypass switches, but beyond that, I'm unsure how the wiring would go.

I've got the input jack tip (1) and sleeve (2), the first daughter board PCB in (3) and out (4), the second daughter board PCB in (5) and out (6), and output jack tip (7) and sleeve (8). As noted above, the CJ schematic looks like there's some direct connections to the bypass switches.

Any thoughts?

If you search the forum for “flipper”, you’ll find some threads that have a wiring diagram for the 3PDT toggle switch. Let me know if you can’t find it, and I’ll link you to them when I’m back at my computer. (Can never get useable links from mobile for some reason.)

Here’s the diagram for the flipper switch. It’s best to use a toggle switch for it so you can use the position of the stem to determine which position it’s in. You could also use a 4PDT stompswitch with LEDs but I’ve never used one of those and have no idea how reliable they are.

The second diagram in the thread linked below shows how to wire the "flipper switch" to change the first/last order of two separate effect circuits:

Wow! Never heard/seen it called a flipper so sorry to bother on something that now seems easy to find. Thanks, all!

Not a problem. Always feel free to ask if you have a question!

It's referenced as "Stephen's Flipper" in the schematic, although I suppose it's not that obvious what Stephen's Flipper is.

aha. I thought Stephen's Flipper was part of the clickless-relay switching for the bypass switches.
