Build Your Own Clone Message Board

Hi all,

I’ve done my first amp build. A Tube Depot 18Watt marshall kit (had to go with this over BYOC for my budget).

When I power this up, my indicator light doesn’t come on. I’m starting to wonder if it’s bad...however, the larger filter can capacitor charges up as expected.

I get expected voltage with my rectifier tube installed, but I get nearly no voltage with the pre amp tubes installed.

I’m wondering if this is a problem with how I’ve wired my power transformer. If anyone here has built the kit or has the know how to help me out, much appreciated!

You haven't connected the green 6.3V supply wires from the PT to the turrets labeled 59 and 60 at the upper left corner of the turret board (see the layout diagram here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/tubedepot-com- ... 1471355726 ). This connection not only supplies the voltage to the indicator light but also to the preamp and power tube heater filaments! CRITICALLY IMPORTANT!! Refer to section 7.10 of the assembly instructions, pp. 43 - 44.
