A while back, I tried my hand at Envirotex, after reading several of the recommended tutorials. I used a couple of enclosures I had etched and painted with Duplicolor Metalcast.
The tops came out okay, but the sides....no so much.
Has anyone ever Envirotex'd over this paint before? Just wondering if there is a compatibility issue. It was almost like the paint was trying to repel the epoxy, even though I frequently re-brushed the sides as instructed.

I'm afraid I already know the answer here, but is this somehow fixable? If I sand down the entire enclosure, I will lose most (if not all) of the reverse etches on top. If I only sand, re-paint and re-epoxy the sides, keeping the two paints from getting on the tops will be a nightmare, and may end up looking pretty weird as well.
I would just toss them and start again, if not for having to do the reverse etches again...

You could sand that down flat and apply some clear coat. Or live with it? It has character and the top looks great!

Yeah. Try sanding it. You're usually supposed to sand between multiple layers of clear coat anyways.

See, I didn't even know that.
I am assuming I should wet sand, and use a fine grit wet/dry paper?

Yes. Usually. I'm not familiar with Envirotex though.
