I've built a EP booster and put in a voltage display instead of a regular l.e.d.
bypass works fine. when pedal engaged the boost effect is very quiet and it hums fairly load and changes frequencies with the display. here is a 10 second video of what I mean. I using another display outside the box to eliminate any emr https://youtu.be/bptsmJtSfWc
take the display out of the circuit and the pedal works perfectly
Any ideas?

The individual segments of the LED display don’t just turn on and stay on. They cycle ON & OFF very rapidly in sequence. This switching ON & OFF is likely the cause of the noise you’re hearing. Solution? Lose the display.
