Here's a tip for identifying parts with tiny printing, or inspecting solder joints, or any number of other things pedal builders want to do with their failing eyes It's not a new iOS feature, but I bet most people don't know it's there. And Android may have a similar feature, but I I don't know anything about that OS.
You can use your phone's camera as an incredibly powerful magnifying glass, complete with a built in light. Just go to Settings > General > Accessibility, and make sure "Magnifier" is turned on. Then, you 'triple-click' your home button (or sleep/wake button on newer phones without home buttons), and the magnifier turns on. Use the slider to zoom in or out. Works incredibly well!
For visual learners, here's a video. Skip to :22 to get to the point.
Dang, I have a big magnifier I use anyway when soldering but this puppy will come in handy for my rest of the world things I do such as picking out my favorite beer in a bar that has dim lighting and tiny print. This is a quality of life enhancer!

warm places theory sounds plausible. Occasionally, I wake up and think my snake is missing too, but it turns out it's just a chilly morning.
