Okay...

I've finally had a success !!
It seems that all of my problems are stemming from the “JR1” switch (the FET Boost switch that Chris Moir had wired into an XLR)

I wired it into a regular on/off switch (far left).

The other switches are for reference if they'll help rectify the issue (on/on and dpdt toggle)

If I connect the wires as such (2 + 3 as per the hand annotated layout above):

The FET Boost LED comes on and the FET Boost works..

If I do this (1 + 3):

Voila ! the preamp section works !

Connect all three (1 + 2 + 3) ?

We have preamp and FET Boost !

Now....what @#$%! switch do I need to accomplish this ? grrrr !

Thanks !!

Dan

I imagine you're going to need a 2p3t rotary to accomplish this.

Confirm that you are looking for the following combinations:
1+3
2+3
1+2+3

I can probably come up with a connection diagram if I looked at it long enough.

Thinking it through....

No. I don't need those combos..

I need:

1+3 all the time (pre-amp on)

Then 2+3 (FET Boost added to pre-amp on) as needed

Thanks.

For reference - this is how the originator of the circuit had wired it.

When you say 'all the time' do you really mean all the time? if so jumper? Then just a SPST for boost.

or

You can use a DPDT on/on/on for:
pos1: nothing
pos2: 1+3 (pre-amp on)
pos3: 1+2+3 (pre-amp on + FET Boost on)

If I jumper the unused portion (pos 1) of the dpdt would i accomplish the same thing the "jumper" ?

Thanks for all your help !

If you don't need the off position, jumper 1 and 3 and treat them as a single wire. Then just use a SPST to connect pin 2 in.
I've missed what the desired end result is, sorry for taking you in circles. I am not familiar with this circuit operation.
