I have a GoGo tuner pedal. I just built a new rig (pedals, amps, cable, etc) and am getting signal breakup, like crackling, at louder volumes. I sequentially removed pedals from the chain, and finally found it happens when I have Guitar > Tuner > Amp, even when the tuner is off and in 'True Bypass'. If I take the pedal out, the breakup goes away. The pedal is powered from an isolated, high quality power supply but I did have another digital pedal plugged into the tuner's DC output. That pedal was in bypass and disconnected from the signal chain, but I do need to test the tuner w/o using it's DC output.

But still, how is this distortion / crackling even possible if it's in true bypass?

The switch is a 3pdt. Is there a way to test for true bypass if I can't see the circuit traces?

Can you open the back of the tuner and expose the footswitch wiring? Could be helpful to see a good photo of that.
