I finished the Chancellor yesterday (first build) and it worked perfectly with a battery. It didn’t work with the adapter because I had the positive wires reversed. So I fixed that and now I get a squeal that varies pitch when I turn the gain knob. Also both clipping LEDs stay even when I click the foot switch off, but the squeal does go away. I checked around the input jack, which I moved to get to the dc jack, and the gain knob and nothing looks out of place. I feel like the issue has to be around there since there were no other issues yesterday. Any advice is appreciated.

We need to see the solder side of the PCB, as well. And the photo needs to be BIGGER.

Thanks. I will do that the next chance I get. Am I correct that the clipping LEDs should only light up when a signal is hitting them?

Yes. Typically, they’re either in backwards or you have a short to ground.

The problem isn't with the LEDs. It's with the op amp. Either it's not biased correctly or it's been fried, but it's putting out a constant voltage.

We'll need better pics first. Then you're going to want to take voltage readings of the op amp. Take two sets of readings. One with the chip in. The other of the empty socket.

You were correct BYOC, it was the chip. Not sure what was wrong with it but I got my hands on a new one and it works perfectly. Thanks to all for the help!
