It turns out they're more like general boosters that happen to roll of bass, as far as the circuit goes.

I can't view your video, but the Dallas Rangemaster Treble boost is literally no different than any other typical BJT boost. And it doesn't exactly "roll off" bass. To say "roll off" implies that there is some sort of high pass filter. It's simply just a really small input capacitor that doesn't allow any bass through, which really isn't that different from a passive high pass filter. So the rangemaster is just a boost that doesn't actively boost treble. It just boosts the signal that's left over after passing through a tiny input cap, which is mostly highs.

You are *exactly* correct; that's the point I make in the video. (A moderator kindly fixed whatever the problem was with the link).
