Hello,

I purchased the kit a few years back and never got into it. I'm going to try and put it together soon, does anyone have tips for a first timer with this build? I've soldered a bit before but don't have much experience.

Thanks

In general terms: Take your time, read & follow the directions carefully, and ask questions here if you're unsure about or confused by something.

Thanks for the links, very helpful. I have a confidence booster kit that I'll start with.

When soldering: You apply the iron to the joint for a second or two, then apply a bit of solder. Does it matter if you pull the solder away first or the iron?

You'll have better control over the size and quality of the solder joints if you pull away the solder first.
