I painted on of my enclosures white on the inside to help my failing vision… should I sand around the I/o jacks to have some bare metal there?

If so I’ll take around those holes b4 painting, going forward.

At some point I will understand how the current works… not today though v

It's certainly possible, but you'd need to have the paint on pretty thick and not be using much torque in tightening down the I/O jacks. If you want to ground through the enclosure, I'd recommend using toothed lock washers on the inside of the enclosure and crank them down securely so that the teeth bite through the paint. Alternatively, you can always run a wire connecting the sleeves of the two I/O jacks together or make sure both jack's sleeves are connected to a ground eyelet on the PCB.

In the case of pedal in question, Mouse, both i/o run to a ground on the PCB.
… but I noticed that some of the other pedals, still in bags but on my to do list, do not have a ground on the board. Or that’s what the PDF of the build instructions shows. I’ll just sand the holes & keep a wee bit taped off inside the enclosure just in case.

Thanks
