Sweet score JJ! That's a good idea. The wife would KILL me if I brought any more junk into the apartment, but as soon as we get a house and I have a basement work area or something...

I would *die* for an electronics graveyard, or even just a decent parts store, somewhere here on the east coast, preferably Boston-area. Anyone?

You know guys, I always save the circuit boards etc, from small appliances, radios, anything like that when it dies. When I have time I'll remove the good parts and keep them. I've been glad numerous times. :)

Yes +1 for old circuit boards. A computer motherboard is loaded with caps and such.

An old thread, but I am stuck in a waiting room (thankfully with free wifi). Anyway, this weekend I happened upon this place http://www.chesterelectronics.com/

For those in Northern IL or Southeastern WI this was a cool little place to go if you need something quickly. They have a huge variety of parts (individual and full reels of many TH parts, old boards, even a few boxes of old knobs (hehe). This place is about 30 min closer to me than Fry's.

H.R. Distributors in Portland Maine is a good source for any Mainers on the board. http://www.hrdistributors.com/

Great site. Shipping can be kind of expensive. Enclosures with lots of drilling and paint options. Tons of different parts, plus kits for guitarpcb and tone fiend. Also lots bulk cable and jacks.
