Hey there. I have a Fulltone GT-500 and I was hoping to build 2 seperate byoc kits to replace this pedal on my board. I can't find any info on schematics and I'm fairly new to building, so I thought I would see if anyone wanted to suggest what byoc kits would come closest to matching this pedal.

Maybe the mosfet boost and mouse?

You probably want to look at the Crown Jewel that is due out pretty soon. Looks like it's quite versatile and has the ability to swap out the boost module to suit your own tastes/needs. Looks like a very solid competitor to the GT500

Yeah, the boost side should be pretty easily covered by any semi-clean boost circuit. The drive side, though, is a bit unique in that it has an inductor-based mid control (similar to a wah pedal). I can't recall ever seeing schematics published anywhere for the GT500, so I don't know exactly what it is based upon.

I bought a GT500 used for a good price, I felt the inductor mid Q was a little wide for my tastes [ i'm guessing it's just changing the value of one resister ]
Mr. full of himself said there were no mods for it [ as if it was perfect already? ] when I simply asked if this could be changed , anyone know ?
eventually I'll trace the circuit to find a resister feeding the inductor and hopefully a trimmer across that will work ?

[ btw I think M.F. is jealous of the Klon status and is desperately trying to create his own mystique! ]

There are ALWAYS mods for it. Regardless of what 'it' is.

That's part of my point , Seemed a little arrogant to dismiss the idea right away, no attempt to please the customer
after that it really irked him when I mentioned getting help from FSB ...

after a quick look , [ found an article on the Vox wah ] quite a good explanation of how a wah works circuit wise
https://www.electrosmash.com/vox-v847-analysis#link61
there is a resister in parallel with the inductor, that increasing the amount causes a wider Q
in the case of the article , a 33k resister , people wanting a more " vocal " sound, increased the resistance between 33k & 100k
I'll have to check what's in the gt 500 and imagine I'll put a trimmer so I can " play with it " !
