In the process of building my BYOC Champlifier, I noticed what looks like a discrepancy in the documentation of the PT/power cord wiring:

-Pages 29/30 of the instructions shows the PT brown/white and black/white connected to the white of the power cord, and the black power cord going to the switch.
-The layout pdf, however, has the power cord white going to the switch, and the black power cord connected to the PT's brown/white and black/white.

Hoping someone can tell me which is correct.

Also, I've noticed in other amp building discussions that people strongly recommend running the power cord black/hot to the fuse first, then from the fuse to the the switch. Is there a reason why the BYOC instructions show the power cord black going from switch to fuse? I'm confused.

BTW, I have the amp wired according to the page 29/30 instructions. Everything works fine and the amp sounds great. Just would like some peace of mind on the wiring safety.

Thanks in advance.

You did it correctly. The original Champlifier (2017 version) instructions had the black & white wires switched, but this was corrected in the current release. It appears that the layout drawing hasn't "caught up"....

Thanks, duhvoodoman. Have to say, I really appreciated the quality of the instructions. I've done a few manuals myself, so I know they're a huge amount of work.

Any info on the hot to switch vs hot to fuse issue?

I'd wire it to fuse first. Just in case some oddball catastrophic switch failure happens or like a loose part shorts out to the switch.

+1 It's generally agreed upon that it's a bit safer to wire from the power cord to the fuse first, specifically to the tip of the fuse, not the ring. That way, if you have a short or something, live voltage stops right at the fuse instead of flowing through the power switch to the fuse.
