Heeeeey guys, what's up? Been away for far too long. Haven't been doing much with pedal building, although I do have something on the breadboard at the moment. I *have* been screwing around with a couple of different guitars though. Also been busy with band stuff, should have an EP out soon. Skimming through these forums (here and over at Madbean) makes me wonder why I've been away so long. I miss this stuff! And I miss you guys! I just downloaded Tapatalk to my new phone, so I have lots of reading to do.

What have you all been up to? What's new? What have I missed? Any of you doing band stuff?

Been a while man! I've been lurking a lot lately, seems like much of the old crew moved over to other forums or got out of diy.

About 2 years ago I left Hawaii, moved to San Diego and got a job at Taylor. Let me know if you are ever in the area 8)

I just got my pedal stuff out of storage and bought a new drill press on Amazon, so I should be able to start building again, it's been a while.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Big bummer; this place used to be so lively. (It's still fantastic for support, don't get me wrong—just not as much of a social hub as when I joined.)

I've just become too lazy to type anything, I've almost replied to this thread three or four times now. Good to see you Jefe, looking forward to seeing some builds in rocker covers.

Hey, I might visit San Diego some day, so I'll let you know! Our daugter is in the Navy and was stationed out there for a while. We visited her for a week and we really liked it. She's in Virginia right now, but she's mentioned she may want to go back to San Diego, and if that happens we'll definitely be visiting.

What do you do at Taylor?? Man I would love to work for some kind of musical instrument company.

I guess that's bound to happen. I always thought this was one of the friendliest places in the DIY community.

I hear you. I always feel lazy. Really having trouble finding the motivation to build anything. And I've got a huge list of things I need to do. Band stuff, guitar builds, pedal stuff, on top of all the other things in life like work and home maintenance and finding time to excersize and socialize and on and on and on... ugh. Gotta keep pushing on though.

I'm a wood worker in the mill. I didn't know anything about saws or cutting wood before I started working here, now I'm a trainer. I'm essentially grading raw lumber and cutting it into parts.

I love San Diego, but mostly I love that I can see so many of my favorite bands live. This year Ive seen Queens of the Stoneage, Royal Blood, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, CKY, Foo Fighters, Fireball Ministry, and coming up next month is Buckethead. Such a great year for rock, every one of those bands has a new album too!

Very cool! Taylor guitars are no joke.

I just saw QOTSA and Royal Blood in Boston a few weeks ago, what a great show.

I’ve been busy so I’m not on that much anymore. I’ve been working very off and on on another telecaster, my new diy kick. Still drop by here every now and again.

Cool, what's your telecaster project like? Are you piecing it together?

I actually traded one of my teles away recently. After more than 10 years of playing a tele, I've come to realize that I kinda suck, lol. Teles really are harder to play for me, I think because of the somewhat longer scale length. I've been moving over to shorter les paul type guitars. Traded my Blacktop tele for a Blacktop jazzmaster and I'm in love. I can suddenly play chords much easier.
