Finished pedal #6, and this is the first one I have had an issue with. Looking for some advice or assistance with my orange distortion build. Seem to have a short somewhere, but I'm not seeing it. Battery + is shorted to ground somewhere; verified with DC continuity measurement to ground on either input or output jack. Get same results from either DC input. Showing no continuity from the battery negative to either ground. Battery voltage measures 7+ volts prior to connecting to either input, and drops down to nothing when connected to either input. No solder bridges that my old eyes can spot, even with my magnifier. DC input jack and both input and output jacks seem to be wired correctly to me. Any observations or thoughts would be most appreciated!

Haven't really checked, but I do notice that the battery does. I will check the IC temp today or tomorrow.

Sometimes chips can short out internally and cause the same problem as if you had something shorted to ground. If the chip is getting hot, try removing it and then testing your voltages again.

I removed the input & output jacks from the enclosure, noticed significant corrosion on them.

No LED, no heated battery or IC with this condition, BUT...

IC pin 4 - GND = continuity, SAT by my review of the schematic
IC pin 7 to +V = continuity, SAT by my review of the schematic
IC pin 5 to +V = 27Kohms, SAT by my review of the schematic

However, when I measure IC pin 7 to ground, I get continuity. Basically same as I was showing on battery. Could the short to ground be the IC as you suggested? If so, I would assume if I removed the IC from the PCB, I would no longer have the short to ground on the +V?

Could be. Removing the IC would be the easiest way to tell.
