I have a couple of enclosures that I carefully etched, painted, and then envirotex'd.
They were my first attempt at envirotex and I screwed them up pretty badly.
I've tried wet sanding, to get rid if the drips and runs, but I'm taking off more paint and metal) than epoxy.
Is there any particular chemical stripper or remover that's better suited for removing envirotex and just taking things back to the bare metal?
Thanks to those who respond.

What kind did you use? Are you able to cut it and pull it off in strips?

Since the Envirotex system is (I'm pretty sure) a 2-component cured epoxy, it is "intractable", that is insoluble in any solvent system that doesn't actually chemically break it down. And, trust me, you're not going to want to deal with the kinds of chemicals that could do that. So you basically need to remove it physically. Grinding it off is probably a slow, tiresome, and very dusty alternative. As Jimilee suggested, peeling it off might work, if the adhesion between the epoxy layer and the substrate beneath it isn't very strong. Where there's a decal underneath, you'll probably be able to remove it quite easily. Where it's directly applied to metal....not so much.

I am at work at the moment. I didn't try to peel it off, only sand it. I will investigate the possibility of peeling it off when I get home...
However, it sounds like I am most likely going to have to toss them and start over from scratch.

I frequently wedge a single-edge razor blade under envirotex drips on the inside of an enclosure and they generally pop off fairly easily (stuck to bare metal). I'd start with peeling off everything you can using fingers or some needle-nose pliers, and try razor blade on whatever might be left.

Also, if you over-tighten a nut (say a 3PDT or IN/OUT jacks), it can cause an air pocket to form underneath the envirotex. That might work in your favor for once
