The downloadable guide indicates that the BA6110 chip should be inserted into the socket using pliers but not your fingers.

What is the best method to insert the socket using pliers? I guess in my mind I am afraid that using pliers will bend the pins on the chip.

Note: The BA6110 will require a bit of force to get it securely into the
socket. You should not use your fingers. Use a pair of pliers. You will definitely be able
to feel when the chip is in the socket all the way. If the chip is even slightly loose or
wiggles at all, you did not put it in the socket all the way

Hmm, that's not in the version of the 5-knob comp rev. 2.0 instructions I have, so it must have been added later.

I haven't used the pliers insertion technique on a BA6110 IC, so I wouldn't presume to provide guidance.

It's suggested to use pliers because the chip can roll slightly in your finger tips. Just use a pair of pliers and push it in. Apply straight even pressure. Try not to stress about it too much. It's not difficult.

I got it inserted but used some small pliers to apply a little force evenly. That seemed to work well. The compressor is awesome, thank you for all your great work!
