Looks like I don't need to embarrass myself this time around. Appears the cause was one or more bad diodes. Now it's sounding great!

I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but so far I like it even more than I thought I would. I basically just wanted a higher-quality klone than the Mosky Silver Horse I'd been using... it definitely delivers on that front, but my initial impression suggests this could be my new go-to overdrive. I'm actually thinking of getting the Silver Pony 2 now, if I can have this tone with the added flexibility of having the boost decoupled, I think I'm good.

Thank you to the BYOC team for all your help!

Can you tell me which diodes were bad? I have the same voltage at pin 3.

It was one or more of the glass/Ge diodes. I had some help with the debugging, and the helper didn't go into details on which Ge diode(s) was(were) bad. I think he just replaced them on a hunch, which in turn righted all my issues.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! If you don't have extra Ge diodes on hand, I'd suggest contacting BYOC for assistance.
