Hey all. This classic fuzz kit is my first pedal! Got it all soldered up and put into the enclosure and sadly it didn't work. Bypass worked fine and the LED came on, so I snooped around the forum and found the recommendation to reflow. I took it out of the enclosure, and removed the DC adapter to get it out. Reflowed everything, hooked up a battery with the DC adapter still disconnected, however now the bypass works but the LED doesn't turn on. No sound at all when the stomp is activated. Does not having the DC adapter soldered into the board make any difference? It worked with both the DC adapter and battery before reflowing. Would testing it outside the enclosure cause any issues?

Any help you folks could give would be appreciated! I've been trying to use the multimeter to check for continuity and haven't found any dead spots yet.

Sorry if the images aren't the best quality I can upload more if it's helpful. Thanks!

The battery power runs through the DC jack, so you'll need to reconnect it to test it even if you are only testing with a battery.

DC adapter soldered back in and put back in the enclosure---still no sound, but the LED does light up now so I'm slightly closer I suppose. Bypass still works fine

Do you know how to measure DC voltage with your multimeter?

Welp.
Apologies for wasting everyone's time. I put the input in the output jack.

<-------embarrassed as hell right now.

Thanks all for trying to help, unfortunately you can't help me with stupidity :D

Working now and sounds fuzzy as hell!

You… are not the first person who has done that. You're not even the first person who has posted in this thread who has done that!

Congrats! Enjoy.

I'll put my hand up and confess to having done this - I'd swapped some components in a Green Pony for the FET Mod, and couldn't for the life of me figure out how I'd screwed up the pedal by replacing three resistors and one capacitor, especially when they were socketed... It's easy to forget that, with true bypass, input and output are interchangeable when the pedal is bypassed

Apparently, you are not even the THIRD person who has posted in this thread who has done that.

But, hey! The pedal is working for you now, and that's the important thing. Enjoy!!
